Ridgeview, Minnesota Oncology partnering to form new Cancer & Infusion Center
Consolidating services into Chaska and Waconia locations

Waconia, Minn.—July 21, 2016—Ridgeview Medical Center and Minnesota Oncology have announced that, effective Sept. 1, 2016, the two organizations will enter into a joint venture partnership and form a consolidated oncology services program with clinics conveniently located in Chaska and Waconia. This new, formal partnership strengthens the existing, long-term relationship between the two health care providers while providing the most comprehensive, convenient and highest quality of oncology/hematology and specialty infusion care in the region.

The new Minnesota Oncology & Ridgeview Cancer & Infusion Center will bring together competing services and clinics, and consolidate them into the two current Minnesota Oncology locations in Chaska (Lakeview Professional Building, 110105 Pioneer Trail, Suite 302) and Waconia (Ridgeview Professional Building, 560 S. Maple Street, Suite 100).

Our shared goal and guiding principles with our new partnership are to offer a local, ‘destination cancer and infusion center’ to meet the needs of the patients and communities we jointly serve,” said Michael Phelps, Chief Operating Officer, Ridgeview Medical Center. “The new Minnesota Oncology & Ridgeview Cancer & Infusion Center will help our patients have the best quality of life possible through common clinical pathways, combined medical records, access to additional clinical research, enhanced patient navigation and support services, as well as expanded cancer rehabilitation via Ridgeview’s STAR Program (Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation).”

“Our collaboration with Ridgeview will allow us to provide the highest-quality, most cost-effective and streamlined care to patients with a cancer or blood disorder diagnosis,” added Dean Gesme, MD, President of Minnesota Oncology.

With this new structure, Ridgeview will close its Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinics, located in Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska and at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, on Sept. 1. Ridgeview will continue to provide infusion therapy services in its Waconia hospital building for inpatients within the hospital and those needing after-hours or emergent infusion services.

Though the clinic location at which our hematology/oncology and specialty infusion patients receive care will change, we are working closely with our Minnesota Oncology partner to ensure a smooth transition,” Phelps added.
