Reiki for Cancer Patients
Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person, with the goal of directing energy to help facilitate the person’s own healing response. It’s based on an Eastern belief in an energy that supports the body’s innate or natural healing abilities.
Reiki can be done using gentle touch or no touch depending on the patient’s preference. The patient remains fully clothed during the session.
Reiki is a complementary intervention, which means it is to be used alongside conventional
treatments such as chemotherapy.
Reiki may:
- Reduce anxiety
- Boost mood
- Increase energy
- Promote better sleep
- Reduce pain
- Increase sense of spiritual peace
- Increase level of overall well-being
