{image_1}Minnesota Oncology will open its 11th clinic location – in Chaska – on August 4, 2014. The Chaska Clinic will be located in the Lakeview Professional Building at the southwest corner of Hwy 41 and Pioneer Trail overlooking Lake Grace in Chaska.

{image_2}Minnesota Oncology’s Chaska Clinic will be staffed by three board-certified physicians and a certified nurse practitioner, bringing exceptional oncology and hematology care to the area. Patients and families at our Chaska Clinic will also be fully supported by a team of specialists and services including financial counseling, social work, and nutrition therapy, and genetic counseling.

“Minnesota Oncology is excited to bring oncology and hematology care to the southwest metro,” said Dean Gesme, MD, president of Minnesota Oncology. “The growth of this area equals an increased need for care options, and we look forward to providing comprehensive cancer and blood disorder care to Chaska area residents.”

{image_3}Minnesota Oncology welcomes oncologist/hematologist Dr. Purvi Gada to the practice as our main Chaska Clinic physician. Dr. Gada joined Minnesota Oncology in June from the University of Minnesota Physicians Cancer Care at Fairview-Maple Grove. A native of Mumbai, India, Dr. Gada earned her medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbia and completed her fellowship in oncology, hematology and transplantation at the University of Minnesota. Her areas of special interest are benign hematological disorders, hematological malignancies, solid organ cancers, and breast cancer.

“Dealing with cancer can be a difficult journey for patients and their families,” Dr. Gada says. “As a hematologist and oncologist, I strive to travel this journey hand in hand with them, supporting their unique medical and personal needs and incorporating the latest evidence based medicine.”

Dr. Gada will be available for appointments at the Chaska Clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Joining Dr. Gada in Chaska are Dr. Matthew Gall, Dr. Jocelin Huang, and certified nurse practitioner Alicia Wojchik. Dr. Gall will see patients in Chaska on Tuesdays. His areas of special interest are lung cancer, prostate cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, and breast cancer. Dr. Huang will be available for appointments in Chaska on Fridays. Her areas of special interest include colorectal and hepatobiliary cancers, breast cancer, multiple myeloma, and lymphoma.

Certified nurse practitioner Alicia Wojchik will provide full-time support for the Chaska Clinic physicians. Wojchik will relocate from Minnesota Oncology’s Minneapolis Clinic, where she has practiced for the past 13 years. Julie Tyren will be the clinic manager in Chaska. Tyren will also manage Minnesota Oncology’s Waconia location.

The Lakeview Professional Building provides family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics, complete X-ray facilities, clinical laboratory, general surgery, and ophthalmology/optometry. Current Minnesota Oncology patients interested in appointments at the new Chaska Clinic should discuss options with their care team.
