Genetic Risk Evaluation

Some cancers have a hereditary component. To help those people potentially at risk, Minnesota Oncology offers genetic counseling to patients and concerned family members. We believe such intervention can greatly increase the chance of successful treatment, should it become necessary.

Support Groups

BRCA Information Support Group
People with BRCA1 or BRAC2 mutations face complex emotional challenges and complicated medical decisions due to high cancer risks and their impact on individuals and families. This group brings people with a BRAC1 or BRAC2 genetic diagnosis together with others facing similar challenges. The group meets nine times per year.

Lynch Syndrome information and support
People with Lynch Syndrome face unique medical challenges keeping up-to-date and managing the complexities of coordinating medical care for this genetic condition, which substantially elevates risk for colorectal, endometrial and several other cancers, and impacts close and extended family members. The purpose of this group is to bring together people facing similar challenges and to provide a group forum to discuss the latest relevant information about Lynch Syndrome. This group meets four times per year.
