Radiation therapists work with the radiation oncologist to administer the daily radiation treatment under the doctor’s prescription and supervision.
They maintain daily records and regularly check the treatment machines to ensure that they are working properly. They assist the physician by positioning patients for treatment and are experts at addressing your concerns during your treatment series.
Radiation therapists complete a two- to four-year educational program following high school or college. All Minnesota Oncology radiation therapists are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
