Minnesota Oncology Welcomes New Advanced Practice Providers

Minnesota Oncology is pleased to introduce our newest Advanced Practice Providers (APP), Heather Lunning, PA-C, Daleso Yadetta, PA-C, Melissa Dankbar, PA-C, Stephanie Smith, PA-C, and Bethany Kenny, APRN, CNP.

Heather Lunning, PA-C, joined the St. Paul team and has over 20 years of experience. She graduated as a Physician Assistant from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA. Most recently, she was a Physician Assistant in the Family Medicine, Obstetrics, and Surgical Assisting units at Fairview Northland Clinic. Heather is a cancer survivor, and she passionately cares for patients through open communication and respect. Heather’s areas of interest include Women’s Health and Gynecology Oncology. “Empowering patients in their decision making, educating patients with clear and concise words, and collaborating with a team of cutting edge oncologists allows for a positive journey through a cancer diagnosis,” Heather said.

Daleso Yadetta, PA-C, joined the Coon Rapids team and brings a wide-range of clinical rotation experience with her. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, a Master’s of Science in Global Economic Development, and a Master of Science as a Physician Assistant, and she is a member of both the Minnesota and American Associations of Physician Assistants. She has a special interest in caring for the whole person- mind, body and soul. “My approach to caring for patients is to treat everyone how I would like my family members to be treated—with compassion and respect.”

Melissa Dankbar, PA-C, joined the Minneapolis team. She graduated with her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. Most recently, she was a Physician Assistant in the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is a member of both the Minnesota and American Academies of Physician Assistants. Melissa’s areas of interest include hematology and survivorship, and she strives to see the whole patient, not just one diagnosis or moment in their life. “I strive to provide compassionate care with an evidence based background from the first moment the patient steps into my office.”

Stephanie Smith, PA-C, joined the Minneapolis team. She graduated with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Most recently, she was a Physician Assistant at Synaptrx Sleep in Vadnais Heights, MN. She is inspired by her patients, and her areas of special interest include hematology, leukemia, lung cancer, oncology, and prostate cancer. “Understanding that one will never know everything but can always learn something new has made me the provider I am today,” Stephanie said.

Bethany Kenny, APRN, CNP, joined the Minneapolis Clinic. Bethany graduated from the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree. She has experience in professional and global nursing and a variety of clinical practicum experience, including women’s health, oncology, and primary care. Bethany’s areas of special interest include women’s health, gynecologic oncology, reproductive and sexual health, mental health, and integrative healing therapies. “I strive to empower women and their families to be active participants in their care,” Bethany said.
