Philosophy of Care
As Eleanor Roosevelt once stated, “You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give”. As a cancer survivor, I must say that courage is a virtue that holds your hand through the shock of diagnosis, treatment, pain, and healing. I am proud to bring over two decades of diverse medical experience to the team at Minnesota Oncology. Honesty, open communication, and respect to my patients and their families have always been the foundation for me as a provider. Empowering patients in their decision making, educating patients with clear and concise words, and collaborating with a team of cutting edge oncologists allows for a positive journey through a cancer diagnosis. Patient beliefs and respecting the choices of my patients motivates and inspires me to advocate for the best patient experience while providing superior medical care.

I was lucky to begin my life’s journey in rural southern Minnesota. As a veterinarian’s daughter, I knew at a young age that I was intrigued by the mystery of medicine. As I grew older, my mom empowered me to develop into an independent, strong willed young lady. Through college, I dreamed of a career in medicine and decided on a degree in Physician Assistant studies that would allow me a positive life/work balance. Mike, my husband of 27 years has wholeheartedly supported and encouraged me throughout my schooling and career. We have three amazing sons, Ethan, Caleb, and Noah all of whom are beginning their careers as young adults which is an exciting time for our family. We love Minnesota’s beauty and frequently take advantage of the lakes, walking/biking trails, and seasonal changes. Boating, perennial gardening, cooking, wine tasting, and travel bring our family relationships even closer.
