Physicians at Minnesota Oncology have access to the latest advances in cancer treatment and prevention through several research programs.

  • US Oncology, a national organization devoted to the care of cancer patient, offers cancer treatment research protocols through its affiliated physicians and clinics.
  • Community research access programs such as the Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) make National Cancer Institute clinical trials on cancer treatment and prevention available to Minnesota Oncology physicians and patients.   Additional studies are available through this program.
  • Minnesota Oncology has additional research affiliations with the following groups:
    • Virginia Piper Cancer Institute (VPCI), a local research institute, offers clinical research trials through our Minneapolis clinic.
    • Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG)
    • Gynecology Oncology Group (GOG) trials are available at our St Paul Cancer Center
    • M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX
    • National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Program (NSABP)
    • North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG), Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN
