Minnesota Oncology Hematology P.A. employs several advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). APRNs have a Master’s Degree and advanced training in physical examination and diagnosis. Often, they carry advanced certifications in their specialty.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses provide direct care to oncology patients in collaboration with a medical or radiation oncologist. These nurses are licensed to perform physical examinations, procedures and prescribe medications including chemotherapy. Often, they are able to see patients in the clinic if a particular physician is not available.
Patients who are hospitalized may see an advanced practice registered nurse along with their regular oncologist. At Minnesota Oncology Hematology, we currently have fifteen advanced practice registered nurses at various clinic sites. We would like to individually introduce them to you.
